Vintage Find: Chunky Cameo Necklace!

Vintage Cameo

I don't know about you but I'm in Awe of everything vintage right now! Yesterday I passed by this Antiques and Vintage store called "VintageRose" (cute name) anyways, I've always passed by it and always thought, "I should really stop by someday". Yesterday was the day I finally did, oh boy did they have some really nice stuff in there! I fell in love with the jewelry, pins and brooches!! They just don't make them like this anymore! Just wanted to show you some pics, it's like nothing out there...I'm not the person to make impulsive purchases (ok I may be lying there a bit...LOL) but my husband was the one insisting I buy it--he knows how I work!

Mod Podge

Mod Podge?
Have you heard of it?
Me neither, or at least I hadn't till I started blogging, but its such a neat thing---
You HAVE to try it!
And that's Definitely what I did... I wanted to post a tutorial on these shoes but I rather not because the photos show how ugly and nasty these shoes were and you might be like...eww..what the...?!
But it was my first time so I def didn't want to use a good pair if you know what I mean.
Anyways I'm sure you can just google it and you're sure to find more than a handful tutorials on this.
I made my daughters old pair and then added rhinestones as embellishments....they came out cute! Let me tell you to make sure you put a heavy coat of mod podge on the bottom by the sole; let it dry in between coats because I didn't do that and they started coming off after the second use!

In the Mod Podge mood I was, I decided I needed a photo box, you know to put all the photos that you haven't had time to organize into an album or scrapbook.
I used a regular shoe box, laid it on top of my fabric and cut as if to wrap a present.

Making sure everthing fits neatly, cutting corners and then applying modpodge.
I then also applied a coat of modpodge on the outside.

I used some scrapbook paper and cut out designs from my SCAL with the Cricut Expression machine.

Fabric Flowers

This is all the craze for me right now:
FABRIC FLOWERS!

Out of anything and everything, in any which way I can fold and sew them.
The embellishment part is a whole lot of fun trying to match each with its own "personality". I'm really into the pearl and vintage look right now.

These are perfect for just about anything: clips, brooches, t-shirts, endless possibilities!
It's funny how I can have a BLAST all by myself! :)

I plan on having a section in my hair salon as a "mini-boutique" for all the crafty-goodies I enjoy making. I don't think I'll ever stop, even if I don't have time I'm sure I'll find some. It's purejoy!

Doesn't it look nice?

Ladybug girl!

Wow, I can't believe my baby turns "2"!
Last year we did cupcakes, cupcakes! I was planning on doing an all LADYBUG theme but we will have to split it up with MR.SPIDERMAN! My son turns 4 about 2wks after my "nana" . We'll just do it together because money is tight with the soon-to-be opening of my hairsalon.
Here she is with her homemade tutu. I had a black onesie and I sewed a #2 that I made using my Cricut machine. I made her a "no-sew" tutu with black and red tulle and added ladybug ribbons to it as well as rhinestones for embellishments. Her "antenna" is made out of a regular headband that I attached the pom-poms and felt "sticks" (I cannot seriously think of their name right now and I'm too tired to get up and look for the package--I will certainly come and edit this when I do!) I also made matching bows from the ribbon and added tulle to the back, they are on lined alligator clips and since she really doesn't have much hair I just attached them onto the antenna and they look too cute!

The top shoes are her converse that I added regular glitter with Mod Podge--(I've now found better glitter...the real fine one works well). I took off her laces and just put polka dotted ribbon as the laces, and went ahead and cut out a ladybug from the fabric I had and ironed it on.
I made her sister a matching skirt and sandals for the theme, as well as invites--which I will definitley have to post soon!

Toy Story 3 bday

First Bdays!
My nephew turned ONE and my sister decided to go with the TOY STORY 3 theme since that's whats ALL the "BUZZ'' right now.
(aren't they adorable?!)
We came up with this idea as always, for our centerpieces--this one here is one of the smaller ones. I was gonna import some TS3 svg images into my SCAL program and cut them with my CRICUT but I was a bit in a rush so paper plates seemed to do nicely.

This one here is much taller and the tissue paper is in a vertical pattern instead of horizontal like the one before. Simple yet Adorable and Extremely Decorative!

livin out loud!

man--i'm so so XCITED!!! IF THERE'S ONE THING that xcites me alot it's when youth are on Fire for God!!
It's AMazing what one can achieve when they let God use them!! Man i
still remember my youth days...(not that i'm old or
anything..hehehe..i'm only 25--i'm still a youth!!) i remember carrying
my bright yellow backpack around the halls in highschooll--with bible verses written allover it & big letters that spelled our JESUSFREAK!! and you know what i sure did get alot of weird stares and snickers...but i didn't care...i was LIVING OUT LOUD for my GOD!!!
and u know what ? i'm so glad that when God got ahold of me...HE sure
did...He's never let go...(and u know what --He never does--WE are the
ones that sometimes do) YOu know..that we get TirEd of everyday LIFe
and we're like dang, Theres' gotta be something more...and you know
there is...Jesus..whom gave the UltimATe Price for our SalVation and so
WE may know HIM!! Everything is just better with HIM!! Now i'll be
Honest...don't believe those that say oh''when u become Christian
everything is aways for the better and there will be no
problems....lie...we still have our own struggles, trials, etc...but in
the midst of it all...God is there!! He has sent his HOLY SPIRIT to
comfort us!!! when we go through tribulations thats when we hang on to
God even tighter..i thank GOd for any problems or struggles i've had
b/c they've made me stronger, they've taught me to depend on HIM,
they've reminded me to look to HIM --incase i got off track!!! There's
so much we need to learn and apply to our lives...the way we
think...the way we feel...the way we love..the way we work...what's
really important..what bugs us...(ok one thing that bugs me is
Christians who give off the wrong picture to others and therefore we
All get a bad reputation...ine xample<..> there are those out
there that say they love Jesus,,,,but aren't showing it....yea they
love jesus but just with their words and mouth...not like God wants us
to love HIM: in spirit and in Truth, amaras a Dios con todas tu corazon, todas tus fuerzas y toda tu alma... they haven't been completely "TRANSFOrmed"
<..>and for those of you who might be...like ...is she talking to
me...No, i'm not...God Is! We depart from the things of this world,,,in
example--and people u know i don't even have to do this....swearing,
drinking...hat'n...there's just so much....but anyways despite all of
this that i'm saying God gives us FREEWIll....thats'
really to do what we want...He loves us that much that HE would never
Force us to do anything we don't want to...For those of you who agree
w/me...right on..lets keep praying' for those who need more
understanding and those who really need to beTRANSFORMED..TO MAKE IT
REAL..TO HAVE THAT RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD AND NOT THE RELIGION...(RELIGION DOES NOT SAVE US...JESUS..DOES!) my
prayer is to pray for the youth!!! cada dia se pierden mas y mas..we
need to lead them to Gods feet...LET US BE AN ENCOURAGEMENT TO
OTHERS..TO LOVE IN GOD'S LOVE..NOT TO PUSH ANYONE DOWN OR POINT FINGERS!!NO NO NO....THEN WHAT DOES THAT SAY ABOUT US? AND MORE IMPORTANTLY GOD'S LOVE!!!
IT IS NOT TO OPRESS PEOPLE AND BE LIKE " NO UR WRONG AND I'M RIGHT" LET
GOD TAKE CARE OF THAT ...REMEMBER THAT IT IS AND INDIVIDUAL THING...U ARE NOT GONNA SAVE ANYONE AND NO ONE IS GONNA SAVE YOU!!!!!!
U R ON YOUR OWN SALVATION RIDE W/ GOD...IN THAT RIDE WE CAN ONLY LIFT
UP HIS NAME,,,,SHOW GOD'S LOVE...AND TRY TO HELP AND ENCOURAGE
OTHERS...WHEN ONE FALLS DO NOT LAUGH OR TALK BAD ABOUT THEM...EXTEND UR
HAND AND HELP THEM....REALLY CARE ABOUT OTHERS...B/C WE ARE ALL MADE IN
HIS IMAGE..REMEMBER THAT...GOD LOVES SINNERS...ITS THE SIN HE DESPISES..NOT THE PERSON...WHILE WE ARE ALIVE THERE IS STILL HOPE...BUT ONCE WE DIE ...IT'S TOO LATE IF WE DIDN'T MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE.... i luv u all and hope that this was an encouragement to you and that God can open ur heart to recieve the true message...luv ya! LIVE FOR GOD ONE DAY AT A TIME!!

Liv'n out loud...where has it gone?!!

"Here I am once again, I'm in need of resurrection..." I love these lyrics because they are so true, there is no faking it, just accepting it --that sometimes we let "this" happen to us. "This" as in, we put our guard down, our "armour", we stop spending that much needed time with our Lord. Then it weighs down and you don't know what to do with it, eventhough we know we have this AMAZING, FORGIVING, MERCIFUL, GREAT GOD!! We seem to make Him "small" and forget everything HE is...If you feel this way, bow your head, close your eyes, open your heart and give it all to God, Pray that He removes all impurities and unwanted feelings, heaviness and that He replaces with HIS UNENDING LOVE AND MERCY, that His Joy and HolySpirit will abide in us...All I want to be is that Proverbs 31 woman. Someone chasing after God with all her heart to only please Him and live in His ways to be an encouragement to others and that His Name will be Glorified and Praised!! I want to go ahead and take the time to invite you to visit www.joyinthetruth.blogspot.com with Sharon, I've been reading her blog or going back to a couple of posts, like "Finding out what pleases God", everytime I need some encouragement. We're all in the same boat, we all want to finish the race and be in awe of our Lord's prescence, let us encourage one another so that we do not go weary.
"For Great is the Lord and most Worthy of Praise" 1st Chronicles 16:25
